Hey, if Smallville rates a trolley system then HELL YES they're gonna have hot air balloons! Official City County State hot air balloons! And maybe a couple of zeppelins. And then there's that spaceship ol' Zebulon is buildin' out by the crick. The feds are concerned about all the plutonium Zeb's gatherin' but Zeb, he don't worry none. It's for "peaceful purposes." Naw, there's no way no how that spaceship is actually a giant missile he's gonna fire at th' Godless abyss o' perdition some folks call "Metropolis." No sirree! So you all kin jess git now. Go on... git! Afore I grab muh shootin' iron.
Sorry, I seem to have gone off on a tangent there. Anyway, it's the "Smallville County State Fair" part that gets my goat. It's either a county fair or a state fair. It's not both! Unless Smallville has gone and seceded from the Union again. It's possible. Lord knows it's large enough.

No, no, no. You've got it all wrong. You forget that Smallville, the county seat of Smallville County, is so big that it has competing state fairs! This balloon is from the Smallville County State Fair, which should not be confused with the Smallville City State Fair.
Or something like that.
Or the Smallville High State Fair, judging by the sheer number of kids that show up over the years.
It's impossible to hear Clark's voice as anything other than Nelson Muntz in this panel.
Michaelrbn: I'm guessing if one wants to properly experience both fairs it takes around two months (not counting the ten days it takes to travel between them).
Jonathan: "But I wanted to take French for my extracurricular credit!" "Cram it! You're workin' in th' hog barn and that's that!" (Smallville High School counselors are hard core.)
Bully: Well, now it is, anyway!
Dang BB, do you have a redneck voicebox as well as the pirate one? You have the accent down to the smallest detail.
I could swear I was hearing Zeb there...
You know, the more times I get "in character" as Zeb, the harder it is to come back out of it...
