"Drawn by the mental magnet that is the mind of Demitrius (and blitzed out of her mind on whiskey sours from the hotel bar) Marianne stumbles into the mouth of the alleyway..."
At least there's an outhouse directly in her path, in case she needs to throw up. Damn it, Tuska--! Or Mooney, maybe--! Anyway, I have an important reminder for whoever's responsible: not everything is made out of wood. Honest. Not even back in 1971. In fact, less things were made out of wood in 1971 than in any other year in the history of mankind. It was a glorious year for polypropylene, though...
And she might feel a tad better if she'd just peel that Facehugger off her kisser.

I can't decide which is worse: Marianne's deformed right arm or the way Slasher and whats-his-face are bickering like ten year old siblings. "Slaaasher"??? Really?
And look down the alley, a kid's playing with his Mego action figures.
Maybe Marrianne and Demetrious will run off together because they're they only two who understand each other. Whoops, did I give away the ending?
I don't know what's coming on the last page, but I have to give the award for the book's best line now. To Slasher, for his brilliant delivery of:
What--?
Yeah. He's had it. Amid all the histrionics, he can't even be bothered to bold it or use wobbly letters.
Meanwhile Marianne appears to have two right hands, which means she can't dance on them or something ("How can she dance on her hands? Find out next season on Dancing with the Airhead Psychics"), but also may provide the mystery of what the "something" is that "pulled [her] from the hotel."
Miscolored lobster claw, perhaps?
And that is an awful lot of weather-safe wood panelling. Must've been a sale.
Best post title ever, possibly.
Chance: With the jaunty kerning of the letters, I like to think Demitrius is saying Slasher's name in a sing-song tone.
Jon: *SNRT* Ouch. You just made porkchop-flavored protein paste shoot out my nose. (That's what I get for reading these comments while I'm eating.)
Anonymous: Heh. You're right: "What-?" is the most sensible reaction to anything going on in a Gerry Conway book.
Jonathan: Thanks! But I bet I can still top it. Just give me enough time. (I'm still rather fond of "Insane Crown Bossy" and "Rude Toff's Shiny New Gear" myself...)
"mental magnet" that is the "mind"? Redundancy, anyone?
It's also as needlessly alliterative as a Mantlo script. (Bless 'im.)
